1. Waterproofing:
EVA Material: Heat-sealed seams ensure complete waterproofing! Tested with 50mm/h downpour for 2 hours, it remained dry – a must-have for extreme weather.
TPU/ePTFE: Waterproof rating exceeding 10,000, rock-solid even in heavy rain! TPU is lighter and more environmentally friendly than traditional PVC, a worthwhile choice.
Oxford Cloth/PVC Composite Fabric: Thickened design + nano-waterproof technology, withstands harsh environments – ideal for hardcore enthusiasts.
GoreTex: For outdoor enthusiasts, waterproof, windproof, and breathable – but not cost-effective for daily commuting; not recommended for general users.
2. Breathability:
GreTex/eVent Breathable Membrane: Breathability rating 15,000+, prevents stuffiness and sweating during long rides, allowing moisture to escape quickly and comfortably.
Nylon: Dries faster than polyester, doesn't stick to the skin in summer, but its waterproof performance is slightly lacking in heavy rain; don't expect it to withstand torrential downpours.
Two-way breathable design: Breathable mesh under the armpits and back lowers the body temperature by 5°C, preventing it from becoming a sauna; it's super comfortable to wear in summer.
Avoid this: PVC has an extremely high stuffiness index; in humidity above 80%, it can easily cause heatstroke. Choose EVA/TPU for a more reliable option; avoid this.
3. Lightweight:
EVA basic model: Lightweight at 380 grams, it folds up to about the size of a water bottle, making it easy to carry around; a must-have for commuters.
Nylon: Lightweight and soft, it allows for maximum flexibility in summer; you can even run in it.
Polyester: Lightweight, but its breathability is slightly lacking; suitable for short trips in spring and autumn, but don't expect too much from it.
